If, after powering on the Hurricane device and connecting it to the computer with a USB data cable, AtomStack Studio is unable to detect the device, follow the steps below.

1. Check USB Data Cable Connection

  • Please check if both the device and computer ports are functioning properly.
  • Try connecting to a different computer port and retry.

2. USB Port Occupied by Other Software

If other software (e.g., LightBurn) is currently connected to the device, please close the other software and try again.

3. Computer Cannot Recognize Device Through USB Port

Connect the device to the computer via USB data cable and check whether the computer port recognizes the device information as follows.

Windows:

  • Right-click the "Start" button on the computer.
  • Click "Device Manager."
  • Click "Ports" and check if there is connection information for the device.

Mac:

  • Click "System Information."
  • After entering the System Information interface, click "USB."
  • Check if the list on the right contains connection information for the device.

If the computer does not recognize the device connection information, continue troubleshooting as described below.

4. Check Driver

The computer's USB driver version may be outdated. Please update the driver:

5. Mac System Check for "RNDIS/Ethernet Gadget"

1. Click "System Preferences" and then "Network."

2. Check if "RNDIS/Ethernet Gadget" is listed.
  • If present, the USB connection is fine.
  • If not, follow the steps below to create it:

3. Connect the computer to the device using the original USB data cable, and click "+".

4. Click and select "RNDIS/Ethernet Gadget."

5. Click "Apply."

6. Once "RNDIS/Ethernet Gadget" is created, the USB connection between the device and the computer will automatically be established.

6. Check Data Cable Compatibility

Windows System:

Hurricane supports dual USB-C or USB-C + USB-A connection between the device and computer.

Mac System:

Hurricane does not support dual USB-C connections. It only supports USB-C + USB-A connection between the device and computer, or using a USB-A connection via a docking station, and then connecting to the computer via USB-C.

7. USB Data Cable or Computer Port Fault

If the issue persists after following the above steps, the USB data cable or device port may be faulty and require replacement.
